Sorensen Family | At Home
The Sorensen’s home is so cozy.
I grew up with Kara and it was so fun to spend time documenting her as a mama. Her beautiful family has the sweetest connection. I spent so much of my childhood visiting the town they now live in. Their house is full of charm and warmth. I could feel the love as soon as I walked in.
It was a sunny day and I really wanted to play with all the fun light in their house. They have these beautiful windows in their living room. One of my favorite shots was from outside the house looking in, them smiling and snuggling together through the window.
We spent most of the time in their living room but the two youngest girls were eager to show me their bedroom. We ended up jumping on the beds, all the kids piling on top of each other. One of them wanted to stop and draw a picture, which I of course had to get shots of. The way kids are genuinely themselves holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of my favorite things to document. They are so honest, curious, and fun.
I think we can learn a thing or two from them. Let’s embrace our inner child and have a little more fun. Life is meant to be enjoyed, exciting , and peaceful. This session was such a good reminder of that.
